Hi Martin,

What do you think of this feature? Have you considered it?

Thanks!

Seems there are quite a few other features requests with way more votes going years back that haven't been done yet but you never know. :D

Sorry but I'm not too familiar with message threads but is the idea that related emails are grouped together vs sorted by date? Do people actually use that? To me seems it'd be awkward but perhaps I'm just too used to clicking on a column to sort a certain way or using find as needed. lol

I glanced at the rfc but those things are like reading Greek, unless you know Greek anyway. hehe

yes, it groups email by replys... gmail does this--

the main reason is for roundcube webmail, it supports threads (if your imap server does!!)

Thanks!

Thunderbird does this as it stores a local copy of imap mail and sorts it for you without the need for imap threads. Obviously that doesn't help when using webmail :D
If at first you don't succeed, bomb disposal probably isn't for you! ヅ

Threading support should cache thread information in some permanent (persistent) form. If server just implements threading rfc, it will be slow and roundcube won't be able to use on large folders.

Only some IMAP servers cache information in a way which is useful for threading in webmail clients.

THREAD support would be fantastic. Most desktop clients already handle this locally, so when end-users are forced to use webmail instead, they can get a similar experience. I know this will be very helpful and is probably one of the many practical feature requests currently open/not archived.

Is this feature still waiting?
I need "thread view" in my webmail client (roundcube), but without IMAP THREAD it doesn't work.

There are a lot of features that are not yet implemented. This feature is miles down on the list.

This feature would be SOOOOOOOOO nice.
I want my company to switch off of Gmail and without this feature, the executives won't even consider it. (Because they're so used to Gmail's "Conversations")
I *could* use a different backend that has this feature, but most of the other backends are Linux based,
and since our main File Server is Windows, and all our storage is available on Windows, I would have to setup a share between Linux and Windows to store large attachments and the like.

Is there any way I could sponsor this feature myself?
E.g. pay $100 and have it implemented?

How much would it take?

I have conversations in Thunderbird....

Martin is not around very much, he is very busy in life generally I suspect. You can try and email him directly and ask, but my expectation is that he won't even respond
martin[at]hmailserver.com

ALSO, the source is on GitHub. You can fork your own changes (or pay someone else to do that)

Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.
