Hmail Server & YAF Forum

Post by ewhitmor » 2008-04-23 21:53

Hey all,

I am having a bit of a problem getting hmail and YAF (Yet Another Forum) to interact. The YAF guys say its hmail but when i check the hmail logs im not seeing how it could be hmail. Here is the situation.

I am using YAF for a small local government. They have uses that are "watching" certain boards and when someone posts to that board it should be email everyone who is watching. Currently there are around 25+ people watching the forum. The problem is when someone posts it only sends out 1 to 3 emails instead of the 25+ like it should. Using other parts of the forum i am able to email all members (65 people) without problem which leads me to think its YAF's problem not hmail. YAF people seem to think otherwise and thus i am posting my log here for you guys to review and give me your thoughts.

That log shows that YAF tells hMailServer to deliver an email from xxx@xxx.org to xxx@hotmail.com and that hMailServer then does this. If it was supposed to be sent to more people, it looks like a YAF issue to me...

Martin - That is the conclusion i am going up with as well. Thanks for confirming it.

On a side note:
If under IP ranges i have my webserver's IP(private & public & which happens to be the same box as my hamil server) and i have the forwarding relay checked but not spam protection would there be ANY reason why hmail would drop the correction from my forum after 2 or 3 emails?

In settings >> Protocols >> SMTP >> RFC compliance >>

What do you have the maximum number of invalid commands set to?
Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.

I'm dealing with YAF as well nowadays. I'd say it should be a YAF problem, without any doubt :)
