Assistance required with setup of hmailserver

Post by MosesKhan » 2019-09-06 13:31

I've set up hmailserver on my Windows Server and I've created the DNS records required to use it.

My mail client appears to create the mail account fine with successful logins and all, but it never syncs. This mail client being Mail for Windows 10. When the sync finishes, it does so with the following error:

Something went wrong...
We're having a problem downloading messages. Make sure you have a connection and your account information is correct, then try again.I also know that my firewall currently allows incoming and outgoing connections on port 25 having added new inbound/outbound rules in Windows Firewall.

When I try to add my email account in Outlook, I get the following error:

Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): Your incoming (POP3) e-mail server has reported an internal error.... The server responded: -ERR Cannot connect to POP server

Send test e-mail message: The server responded: 530 SMTP authentication is required

When I set My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and Use same settings as my incoming mail server, I get a new error:

Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): The connection to the server was interrupted... The server responded: -ERR Cannot connect to POP server, connect error 10060

Have you also allowed POP3 / IMAP ports through your windows firewall?

Ports 110 and 143 usually
Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.

Here is a question about your configuration. The only ports you state you have opened are your Windows Firewall Ports. Now this may sound dumb but did you also open the ports on your Local Network Router? You do not mention anything about the Router Firewall only the Windows Firewall. I know it's kind of dumb but I don't like to assume anything.

For me it's usually the other way around I will remember to open my Router Firewall Ports but forget about opening Windows Firewall Ports.
