Autoban problem

Post by bagu » 2019-09-03 15:45

Hello,

I use the "Autoban" feature to eliminate attempts to log in to non-existent accounts.
However, the priority given by the autoban is 100.
So, if my users are wrong using the webmail, I have no more ways to prevent the webmail to be banned.
Would you have a solution?

In addition, the documentation is not up to date on this point:
https://github.com/hmailserver/hmailser ... cda844251a
https://www.hmailserver.com/documentati ... ce_autoban

It indicates a priority of 20 while it is now 100

Thanks

For 5.7.x, simply increase (higher than 100) the priority for webmail address (probably 127.0.0.1 if ran on same server)?

Version 5.7.x is not out yet (officially), so the documentation is up to date
CIDR to RegEx: d-fault.nl/CIDRtoRegEx
DNS Lookup: d-fault.nl/DNSTools
DNSBL Lookup: d-fault.nl/DNSBLLookup
GEOIP Lookup: d-fault.nl/GeoipLookup

Ok for the 5.7, i will wait ;)

But for the documentation, nop :
"The IP ranges added by auto-ban is given the priority 20, so if your own IP range has priority 25 it will take precedence."

Must be :
"The IP ranges added by auto-ban is given the priority 100, so if your own IP range has priority 125 it will take precedence."
For example to be correct with the real autoban priority i think.

No ?

In 5.6.x the autoban priority is 20 so therefor the documentation is correct

You sure you are not using 5.7.x?

I'm using the Dravion's version.
So i don't know if i can rise priority up to 100 in this version.

But Dravion say that he will follow upcoming changes as i understand.

Same fix should apply then
I have some IP ranges with a priority of 500
Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.
