Rules to bypass local domain

Post by paultilley100 » 2019-08-13 13:44

Hi All

Is it possible to have a domain configured in hMail, and create a rule so that if any mail comes in for that domain, it is sent out using a different route?

The Situation:
A domain is due to come over to me soon and I have configured the email accounts etc ready.
I need to communicate with the domain owner who is using one of those email accounts currently on his existing hosting.
I am using the same instance of hMail

Attempts:
I have tried creating a global rule where if the domain exists in the recipient list, then it is sent using one of my outbound routes, but it seems to be ignored - presumably because its all local?

Any advice?

If the domain exists locally, but not the account, then create a route for the domain and point to where it is hosted.

If the account exists, temporarily re-name it, until the full domain is in your control and then rename it back
Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.
