HMailServer Administrator can't connect with an error from machine localhost due to the following error: 80070433
Dear sir/madam,
I run into a problem with hMailServer Administrator. An error message was pop up when I tried to connect to hMailServer. Here is the error message " Retrieving the COM class factory for remote component with CLSID {D6567EF8-0A6C-48E7-9288-A2463123CF3} from machine localhost failed due to the following error: 80070433.
Help me please!
I stuck with it almost a full week.
Thanks beforehand.
Best Regards,
~Daneth.

Re: HMailServer Administrator can't connect with an error from machine localhost due to the following error: 80070433
That error sometimes comes up when you have the administrator panel open, but then restart the hmailserver service.
Close the error, and restart the Admin GUI

Re: HMailServer Administrator can't connect with an error from machine localhost due to the following error: 80070433
Thanks mattg for your fast answer. I have tried to restart hMailService but it still shown the same error.
Re: HMailServer Administrator can't connect with an error from machine localhost due to the following error: 80070433
Try the following:
Open a Windows Command prompt and run the this command
"%programfiles(x86)%\hMailServer\bin\hMailServer.exe" /Register
exit the Windows Command prompt and check if the error is gone.

I am having the same problem. When I first invoke the Admin, I get the 80070433 message .. then when I try to "Connect", I get the same error message.
I tried "hMailServer.exe /Register" and that seemed to have no effect.

Try the register command in an elevated command prompt (run as administrator)

Re: HMailServer Administrator can't connect with an error from machine localhost due to the following error: 80070433
Unfortunately running Register command as admin did not seem to correct the problem ..
1) invoked cmd as Admin
2) traversed to the hMail directory and "hMailServer.exe /Register"
3) rebooted
4) started hMailServer service
5) got same 433 error when invoking hMailServer Administrator and then again when trying to "Connect"
Thanks for helping me

here are the last few entries in the log -- from Feb 2019 -- there are no other logs or entries since them. Although I have tried to access hMail since then

Re: HMailServer Administrator can't connect with an error from machine localhost due to the following error: 80070433
Try to start your MySQL Server and restart hMaiserver Service and login with hMailAdmin.
Re: HMailServer Administrator can't connect with an error from machine localhost due to the following error: 80070433
Ha! .. well here is at least part of the problem .. Apparently the hMailServer is not running ..
I tried invoking hMailServer.exe from the ShortCut and also directly from the /bin" directory ..
In both cases, there was no visible sign of failure .. and nothing in the /Logs directory
The mySQL is working fine .. I can access it from many different applications
I know it sounds cliche, but "I didn't change anything" .. other than some Windows Updates ..
Thanks
David

Check your hmailserver.ini file if your Database Host or ip is correct. Check also if the DB-User and its Password can connect to MySQL.
By the way, what version of MySQL is running?

Re: HMailServer Administrator can't connect with an error from machine localhost due to the following error: 80070433
- running mysql 5.7x
- running Wamp 3.1.7
- wrote a test script using hMailServer host, user and password values .. successful
in the event log:
"The hMailServer service depends on the following service: wampmysqld. This service might not be installed. "
And as best I can tell, there is no such service, but ALL my other Wamp Services are running just fine.
Is there some Wamp config parm that I need to set to get "wampmysqld"?
Thanks

You need to manually set the service dependencies I'd reckon...davidshot wrote: ↑2019-04-10 08:36in the event log:

Open services and double click the hMailserver service, then go to dependencies...

Re: HMailServer Administrator can't connect with an error from machine localhost due to the following error: 80070433
Goto your Windows Startmenue, lookk out for hMailserver and DBSetup. If you cant find it there goto your hMailServer <your hmailserver folder>\bin and run DBSetup.exe. Follow configuration Options for existing MySQL DB, provide your credentials and leave Depending Service blank, click OK and finish the wizzard.
Now make allways sure your WampMysql (or what ever its name) is running before you try to start hMailserver Windows Service Manually.
If this works, report back.
ps: You need to find out what Servicename your MySQLD Is running under for the mext step in order to fix the Dependency settings later.

Thanks for your prompt response ..
I tried to run DB Setup both from the Windows Start and from the /bin file .. but in both cases, I got NOT response .. no nothing .. no screen no errors ...
Perhaps i would be best to just UnInstall and ReInstall ... although I may still likely have the wampmysqlserver issue?

Re: HMailServer Administrator can't connect with an error from machine localhost due to the following error: 80070433
well for some reason, wampmysqld64 is now running .. i guess after a reboot
now in the Event Log, there is an entry :
"The hMailServer service depends on the following service: wampmysqld. This service might not be installed."
Notice looking for wampmysqld ... NOT wampmysqld64, which is the service that is now running
Is this an hMail config parm?

Re: HMailServer Administrator can't connect with an error from machine localhost due to the following error: 80070433
In this case modify the sc comnand to something like this
sc config hMailServer binpath="C:\Program Files (x86)\hMailServer\Bin\hMailServer.exe RunAsService" type=share" depend="wampmysqld64"
sc config hMailServer binpath="C:\Program Files (x86)\hMailServer\Bin\hMailServer.exe RunAsService" type=share" depend="wampmysqld64"

}
$stmt = 'select * from hm_accounts';
$results = mysqli_query ($conn, $stmt);

Re: HMailServer Administrator can't connect with an error from machine localhost due to the following error: 80070433
Sounds good.
I believe the DB Password is hashed as SHA-1
You can use this SHA-1 Hash in your hMailServer.ini
as DB-Password.
b7a875fc1ea228b9061041b7cec4bd3c52ab3ce3
The Password is:letmein
PS: Dont forget to login into MySQL and change the DB-User Password to: letmein as well.before you restart your hMailServer Service again.
PS2: If the above hash doesnt do it, try this two alternative SHA alternatives instead:
SHA-256: 1c8bfe8f801d79745c4631d09fff36c82aa37fc4cce4fc946683d7b336b63032

Re: HMailServer Administrator can't connect with an error from machine localhost due to the following error: 80070433
This is a new wamp install? Sorry if this is a dumb suggestion because this is a bit over my head, but with xampp, the default installation of mariadb includes user "ANY" which prevents connections with password. I was reminded of that yesterday when toying around with something that included a new install of xampp on a test machine. If this is the case, just delete the "ANY" user and then your connection with password will be successful.
Re: HMailServer Administrator can't connect with an error from machine localhost due to the following error: 80070433
Yes .. this is a "new" wamp install .. 3.1.7 . I was using 2.x.
Ha ha this changes my statement from before the "i didn't change anything" .. but obviously I did .. installed a new version of Wamp . which works great except for the previous install of hMail server.
Still not sure what is correct path to take with hMail : uninstall/install .. will problem with depend on wampmysqld64 still exist? I think this is the crux of my problem.

David

I think the easistway will be a overinstall on your existing installation.
ps: I was wrong regarding SHA-1 DB-Password hash. The correct Hash Algorithm is a Bruce Schneier Blowfish Algorithm. Martin has used a unmodified, existing C++ Class which is dated from 1996 without any hint which it needs. The hashes i get by other thirdparty Blowfish Hash Generators are diffrent in Format, style and length.
How ever:
I will take that nasty thing and put it into a seperate EXE which should do the trick. Check back later.

Re: HMailServer Administrator can't connect with an error from machine localhost due to the following error: 80070433
Sorry to bother you one more time:
1) uninstalled hMail
2) deleted the hMailServer directory
3) deleted the MySQL user name that was being used before
4) made sure the hmail database was also DROP
..... Then ...
I invoked the hMail installation ... and everything was going fine as expected until the message:
libmysql.dll needs to be manually copied
I copied it from wamp/bin/mysql/mysql5.7.24/lib/libmysql.dll .. it's a file 3978Kb
Then tried to "Continue" .. but got same error message .. then I figured out it was the 64bit version .. so i downloaded the 32 bit and the hmail database was successfully completed.
I'm still having some trouble getting into the Administrator (password) .. but i'll figure that one out ..
In retrospect, I think my WHOLE problem was caused by installing the new WAMP version .. and the dependent service (wampmysqld) no longer running under wamp .. but the 80070433 Error Response is terrible misleading ..
Again thanks for all your help .. hMailServer absolutely meets my need and I love the way it works! ..

To reset your Admin password to a new Password, follow this Guide:
https://www.hmailserver.com/forum/viewt ... 21&t=31490
You also can just set the Admin Password to a blank value - for example: AdministratorPassword=
and login with hMailAdmin with Username: Administrator and empty Password.
