Questions on Distribution list
Questions on Distribution list
Hi Friends,
I think you guys already using distribution list in hmail server. I have couple of questions on this. I send emails to external users from my id.
1. How can only internal users (domain users) can send to distribution list address?
If I selected "Membership" option. My email address needs to be in list to send email. Is it possible to send email without having my email address in the list?
If I selected "Public" option. Anyone send email to distribution email address (like from gmail, yahoo email). But I want only internal users can send email to it.
2. Require SMTP Authentication, If I am sending email from Roundcube it is throwing error for SMTP authentication.
How to enable SMTP authentication from RoundCube?

Re: Questions on Distribution list
1, There is a check box called "Require SMTP Authentication". Check that. Then only authenticated users (and therefore users local to the system) will be able to send to it. https://www.hmailserver.com/documentati ... butionlist
2, there are parameters in your roundcube config file to set the authentication details. I dont use/know it myself but maybe you can figure it out or wait for someone else to advise.

Re: Questions on Distribution list
I am able to fix this issue. I selected "Public" and also selected "SMTP Authentication" then changed in RoundCube config file.
Now, I need to import all emails to list from file. Please let me know what format file needs to be to import contact to list? any sample available.

Re: Questions on Distribution list
I think I don't need script for this. hmail has built in feature for import. But I don't find help for the format this.

Re: Questions on Distribution list
Here's the thing....
I dont know, just like you. But, to find out I do little research (reading and searching) and even try stuff with logical thoughts trying to fill in the blanks based on things being obvious. What do YOU think an import file to populate an email address list might need to contain?
If I can do this (to get an answer to you for your problem), what do you think the possibilities are of you doing the same?
Please do report back when you have the answer so we can update the documentation accordingly (if and where required).
