AFAIK, SM should handle multiple domains fine as long as it's configured correctly. Have you modified line 110 in /config/config.php yet?

The only place where this might be an issue is with:

Code: Select all

/*** Server Settings ***/
/**
 * Default Domain
 *
 * The domain part of local email addresses.
 * This is for all messages sent out from this server.
 * Reply address is generated by $username@$domain
 * Example: In bob@example.com, example.com is the domain.
 * @global string $domain
 */
$domain = 'yourdomain.com';
Maybe someone else who uses SM for multiple domains can comment on this...

  • * Backup your existing SM install
    * Extract the new on top of the old
    * Restore /config/config.php
config.php hasn't changed that much in the last few versions of SM, so you should be okay. If not, that's what backups are for, right? ;)

In MailHerver, in ip range, for 127.0.0.1, do you ask for an authentification ?

It is strange, because if your login were wrong, you should have that :
ERROR
Unknown user or password incorrect.
Does your navigator accept cookie ? If no, it must accept them. It can come from you firewall or your anti spyware too.

When you write "1 IP, mine", you mean 127.0.0.1 or 192.168.*.* or you're true IP?
you need at least the 127.0.0.1. For me, all the servers (pop, smtp and imap) are checked, with no authentification required and the last 4 checkbox are checked.

You need to have "the internet" to. I allow only smtp and pop, but you can check imap if you want. Then, I require authentification only to extrenal account, but no authentification is required to local accounts (otherwise you can't receive mail from external account).

Then I allow reception only for local to local, local to external and external to local.

Extern to extern is not checked.

Using PHP5 can be a problem too, try with PHP4.4 or PHP 4.3.11 (but not PHP 4.3.10 otherwise PHPwebAdmin won't work).

About MsSQL, I don't think it has something to do with Squirellmail as it doesn't use it.

after just being logged in to enter the info like email address sig page.

do you have to do anything special with php.ini or iis? seems like it loses password but either way never brings up left menu...

I have errors.

Post by Paul_Nerds » 2005-07-29 04:25

Hi

Just noticed I posted this in the wrong place. So I copied it here.

Hi

I am a newbie to PHP and hMailServer and Squirrelmail. Probably not a good combination. I seem to have everything mostly running.

In the SM I get the following errors.

On all pages just below the menu:
Notice: Undefined index: REQUEST_URI in E:\Inetpub\websites\BusinessStop.com\hms_squirrelmail\plugins\timeout_user\functions.php on line 109

Notice: Undefined offset: 1 in E:\Inetpub\websites\BusinessStop.com\hms_squirrelmail\plugins\timeout_user\functions.php on line 110

On the folders page:

Notice: Undefined offset: -1 in E:\Inetpub\websites\BusinessStop.com\hms_squirrelmail\plugins\folder_sizes\setup.php on line 141

I suspect I just need to authorize something on the server.

Windows 2003, PHP 5, hMailServer 4.125, this SM.

Thanks for creating this it is great.

Paul

You both need to turn off notices in php.ini.

Not sure what you find so dirty about the OP. We cannot strikethrough text in phpBB, so I chose to make the color of text less important. If you're really interested in the this modded script, you really should read through everything in the OP; and the (updated) download links still remain listed in the first sentence.

Hi TheAngryPenguin,

For the hms_squirrelmail\plugins\squirrelspell\sqspell_interface.php, our programmer found out that when the aspell return suggestion array:

suggestions[0] = "teats, test, tents, tests, texts, tats, tits, tots, tuts, stets, Tess, teas, tees, bets, gets, jets, lets, mets, nets, pets, sets, tels, tens, vets, wets, totes, tarts, teat's, torts
";

the "; is in next new line rather than end of the array it should be :?:

suggestions[0] = "teats, test, tents, tests, texts, tats, tits, tots, tuts, stets, Tess, teas, tees, bets, gets, jets, lets, mets, nets, pets, sets, tels, tens, vets, wets, totes, tarts, teat's, torts";

I use the linux box to perform spell check and it return the second array with no error come out :shock:

Do you know which file and which line to modify it?

Thanks.
Regards,
Chai Kam Weng

I think it is the same PHP redirect issue. I had to remove because I didnt feel like recoding every little bug. Why does PHP 5 redirect not work on Windows?

Errors Logging In

Post by johnmandre » 2005-08-11 04:54

Background: I'm moving my mail from one server to another. I got the hms issues all worked out and I can connect to the new server just fine (with Thunderbird).

However, when I try this hms_squirrelmail I got some errors. I went through conf.pl (after installing activeperl) but still getting some errors.

Now, after entering user/pass, /src/redirect.php is throwing some errors:

==========
Warning: touch(): Utime failed: Permission denied in C:\WebSites\hms_squirrelmail\plugins\login_alias\functions.php on line 73

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at C:\WebSites\hms_squirrelmail\plugins\login_alias\functions.php:73) in C:\WebSites\hms_squirrelmail\src\redirect.php on line 101

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at C:\WebSites\hms_squirrelmail\plugins\login_alias\functions.php:73) in C:\WebSites\hms_squirrelmail\src\redirect.php on line 169

============

Any ideas? I searched around but didn't find much help.

All insights welcome.

Insights

Post by johnmandre » 2005-08-13 06:56

OK, I had an idea. On my old server I used the normal squirrelmail but on my new server I used the hms mod.

I put the hms mod on my old server (where the old squirrelmail works fine) and the hms mod fails with the same falure as listed above. :(

I then put the regular squirrelmail installation on my new server and...it worked just fine. :)

So, it's nothing with the hms config, it must be something with the hms mod'ed version of squirrelmail.

What, oh what could it be? I'd love to use the new version. Anyone have any thoughts?

I really haven't a clue. I cannot reproduce this, and the new version has been built exactly as the old was, so I am surprised to hear of any problems. I would be highly suspicious of your server config -- this script runs perfectly fine on linux boxes. Has anything changed recently, like your versions and/or configurations of Apache and/or PHP?

SM Mod Amin

Post by kindredx » 2005-08-30 03:31

Great work on this SM mod. I have just recently installed it and it works and looks great. I am kinda new to PHP, so my question is about the admin account. How do I create one, or login to the current admin account to modify some of the options in the SM Mod.

Thanks,
Kindredx

I have never actually used this plugin. A while back, someone posted the same question and was able to get it to work with the above quoted information. Unfortunately, I cannot find that particular post.

Time mis-match on webmail

Post by chaikw » 2005-09-08 10:10

Hi TheAngryPenguin,

I'm using Windows 2003 server with apache 2.0.54, php5.0.4, hMailServer 4.1 Biuld 136 and the SM mail from you.

All working fine on testing environment (LAN). When I try it out on WAN, the time on left side panel change. My Server system time is 4.19pm, 8 Sep 05 but the left panel show 8.16am, 8 Thursday.

And I not getting any email.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

error on auto reply

Post by chaikw » 2005-09-09 06:15

Hi,

I tested the on-read auto reply function on SM. When I read the mail and it prompt for auto reply.

When I click yes, I get the following error message on top of the page:

ERROR:

Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable
Server replied: 550 sender address must be specified.

I sure the sender mailbox is OK cause I can sent and receive mail.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

IGNORE. SORRY. BRAIN FREEZE. I had already fixed the problem.

Logging in I'm getting the error:

Fatal error: Only variables can be passed by reference in E:\webmail\functions\imap_messages.php on line 480

Fresh install. Default install, nothing changed except for domain. Anyone seen this before? Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks!

Edit: already fixed the problem in a previous version -- found the fix again.

BTW.

For those interest, this has to do with running PHP5 (stable - 5.0.5) instead of PHP4 with SquirrelMail and has nothing to do with hMailServer. The fix, for those running a stable version of SquirrelMail (stable - 1.4.5; or SM Mod .02 which is based on 1.4.5) is to replace about 6 lines of code in 4 files.

http://www.squirrelmail.org/wiki/en_US/ ... ByPhpError (towards the bottom).

There is diff information @ http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.ph ... tid=423679

in apache/php environment handling.
See https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.p ... tid=423679 for instructions and a link to an alternate timezones.cfg -- FYI, it looks like this issue will be/is fixed with 1.5.x

timezones

Post by dzekas » 2005-10-13 21:34

Please follow SquirrelMail code changes before declaring that timezones issue is fixed in 1.4.5. There is open bug in 1.4 tracker. Timezones issue is fixed only in 1.5.1cvs and you haven't backported all SquirrelMail 1.5.1cvs timezones handling code.

If you want to check if timezone is working - select any timezone. If it is not working - timezone reverts to GMT. Windows does not support GNU C timezone names. Your timezones.cfg contains GNU C time zones.

Sorry, when I wrote that, I swear that it was posted as 1.4.5 in the tracker - Apparently, "GMT instead of selected TZ issue should be fixed in 1.5.1cvs." The first post has been modified accordingly.

Post by doug2die4 » 2005-10-21 01:52

I've just installed and configure IIS on win2K, Hmailserver (latest stable version), the mod taken from this website, and php5
When I click on Inbox it appears me that:
Fatal error: Only variables can be passed by reference in C:\Program Files\hMailServer\webmail\hms_squirrelmail\functions\imap_messages.php on line 480

Could anyone help me.

P.S. I've seen in the first post that php5 is now supported!!!!! THX111

I love this mod! It looks very nice :)

One thing: hMailServer now supports the SORT extension for new versions (I think for the 4.2 alpha branche??) Maybe its nice to notice in the opening post the ability to set the server side sort to true. It makes SM muchhh faster! Depening this variable on the server version is also a possibilty I think?

Hmm -- I confirmed that I am 'watching' this topic, and yet, I haven't received any notifications of the last three posts or so. At any rate, I'll soon add the spiele about SORT compatability to the OP. Thanks rattenfanger!

EDIT1: It figures -- I just recieved a notification for my own post! <g>

EDIT2: Strange -- just got another one... :shock:

Thank you for the great work!
Mod 0.1 work fine, buit cannot change password. the newer (7z version) had to much problem but could change password. so I just copy the option.php from here to the Mod 0.1 then it work fine.

if you assemble the Add New User script (in this forum) into Mod 0.1, it would be better for the beginer (like me).

Thank you again. and hope you keep this work up.

I have got problems with the plugins as well.

I am running win2k, hmailserver, hms_squirrelmail from here, iis 5, php 5.05.

The errors I am getting are:

timout_user/functions.php line 109. It seems that "$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']" is not returning anything from the error message?
("undefined index REQUEST_URI").

Has anyone had any joy with this problem?

I will be disabling the timeout plugin i guess, until anyone knows a solution?

thanks v much,

james.

jkearney: Are you using PHP as a CGI? If so, perhaps you can switch to ISAPI instead? (At least I think it's called ISAPI in IIS)

Can you give me a little more info so that I can try to figure out if I am running PHP as CGI?
