Documentation

Post by martin » 2009-07-02 20:15

I'm thinking about merging the User guide and the Reference guide in the documentation. I feel that they are often redundant and people reading the reference guide topic doesn't understand that there's more details in the corresponding user guide topic. If all information related to a specific feature was in the same place, I'm guessing users would find it easier to find the information they are looking for.

Opinions? :)

Information being in one central location is much better than bits all over the place (so to speak).

I'd vote 'merge' on a poll ;)

Aye, Merge.

Also, found an empty one that may need to be removed (or filled with information)

Result:

Not perfect but I think it's an improvement. At least it's easier to find the troubleshooting topics which is almost prio 1... :)

Looks good, I hope it helps.

OT:

"Hats off" to all that help Martin on this forum; I wish I could do more. I swear there are some of you that use some form of electric wakeup stimulus when a new question is posted.

I've been a longtime user of hMail, but feel disadvantaged that I read the manual, researched mail server admin and installed not changing the defaults without understanding what they meant. Even so, I've tried hard to break this software; it is just too good...

Yeah, I really appreciate the help I'm (users, really) are receiving here. :) If I had a budget, I would give some people here salary. Some people here are more helpful than I am, and I almost get bad conscience for not helping out more. Sadly the income for this project zero, which makes a salary kind of hard to hand out. :)

I'm going on vacation for a week now to some beach in Bulgaria. Don't break anything while I'm gone. ;-)

Have a good holiday, and don't think about all of this.

It'll still be here when you get back... :D

I'll accept e-cards also. It will also proof that your laptop is not in the cooler...
