451 qq temporary problem (#4.3.0)

Postby dhaggard » 2007-05-19 15:48

I have been running hMailServer for a few months now, with few problems. None that I couldn't fix. (Installed on Microsoft Windows Server 2003. hMailServer version 4.2.2. Database is MS SQL Server 2000).

But now I have two problems that are beyond me. (Two separate posts)

Suddenly I'm getting this response on every e-mail I send out--

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Sent: Fri, 18 May 2007 18:06:36 -0500
Subject: <email subject)

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

<recipient's e-mail address>
Error Type: SMTP
Error Description: Error message from remote server
Message: 451 qq temporary problem (#4.3.0).

Tried 5 time(s)

MailDaemon
hMailServer

I have searched the Internet on this error, and almost everything attaches it to QMail and storage size limits. But that's not a component or issue with hMailServer. Or is it?

That is an error from the remote server not hmail, Hmail tries to send it 5 times then gives up.

This doesn't look to me like a hmail issue.

Are you relaying through your ISP not that, that should produce this error though.

Strange part is that it's every e-mail, to anywhere. So maybe my ISP's server is the issue. Yes, I have hMail set to point to my ISP's mail server for relay. Perhaps some new security setting they have?

Just wondering if there's a setting on my end that that end doesn't like.

If all your email are delivered to your ISP, it's either a problem at your ISP, or some router in your network which intercepts SMTP traffic and produces the error. There's no hMailServer that would cause this.

Error is generated by qmail-queue. Disk space or filtering issues on remote server. Not related to hMailServer.

My ISP had me change the relay server setting to another server, as they had changed their relay settings. And all is fixed now. Thanks.
