suddenly stops downloading external mails

Post by ist@goalpdy.com » 2020-04-30 07:50

Dear team,

we are using hmailserver 5.4-B1931 on Windows XP system for several years.

we configured yahoo business email accounts and using this hmailserver.

Now suddenly we are not able to download any external email through hmailserver.

But we can able to send email to external person properly.

Internet is working properly in system.

No logs are created about the external mail download issue.if we click download now manually then also nothing is happening.

please guide us.

How is external mail 'downloaded'?
Is this normal SMTP delivery or external account download
Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.

Normal SMTP delivery is working.
External account download is not working.

Can you please enable all logging, try to force download from the external account, wait 30 seconds and post the logs created

And just before that there will be a TCPIP line that says connected to...

Clearly your External account settings for pop.bizmail.yahoo.com are incorrect
What do you have in the External Account download settings for port number and security mechanism

This was working, then stopped working...?
Are you certain that the username and password is correct?

Yahoo offers the certificate, and they control the SSL usage, and they reject you
You really need to sort this with Yahoo

dear Mattg

If i configure email account in outlook directly with yahoo provided settings, then its working perfectly.

Through the Hmailserver, we are getting error.i contacted the yahoo also.they said there is no problem with yahoo side.

i really don't know what to do.

it suddenly stopped working at mid night 12 Am and i suspect that some SSL certificate expires issue. But i don't know how to renew this cerificate.

any ideas please...

And what happens if you disable SSL? Or does yahoo require SSL for POP3 fetching?

Windows XP
You are using an ancient Windows OS and a antique hmailserver Version 5.4 - Build 1931 (2011-08-21) as well....never considered upgrading?

we are getting below error if we disable SSL

"DEBUG" 2756 "2020-05-01 15:05:16.294" "Connection to remote POP3-server failed. Error message: Host name: pop.bizmail.yahoo.com, message: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond"

we don't have much knowledge in hmailserver and hence we continuing the service with older version.

if you turn off SSL, also switch to port 110

Also run this >> viewtopic.php?f=20&t=30914
you may just have an old cipher suite, or poor SSL settings
