Local to local authentication and SMTP route

Post by licondam » 2019-03-27 11:14

Hi,

We have SMTP authentication from local to local email address from any IP outside. We have a client who is using SendGrid and when they send an email to someone in their own domain hmail treats as local to local and it fails as no authentication is used. We have got round this by removing this requirement for Sendgrid IPs in our IP ranges but as they change them a lot it keeps failing.

Can we get round this by using SMTP routes so the email is treated as external for that domain? Any pointers appreciated.

Thanks

No, sorry I don't think so

This help page suggests that they have a solution though

Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.
