Delete EML files from the server (and keep DB updated)

Post by anico64 » 2018-12-18 13:21

Hi.

I have the problem that EML files are not deleted when I delete the email in my client.
So, now I have thousands of EML unused files that take up space in the server.

I searched in the forum a solution but I found only a solution for the reverse (rebuild DB starting from EML files).
I would delete all EML that are not linked in the DB (or that they are flagged as deleted).

Anyone have the solution ?

Thank you.
Alberto.

Configuration:
Hmail server: 5.6.6. B2383
DB: MSSQL CE
Client: Windows Live mail 2012
Emails: managed in IMAP

It probably because your mail client doesn't expunge

without expunging, mail is only marked for deletion, not actually deleted.
What mail client do you use?
Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.

Also viewtopic.php?f=20&t=27646 might help.

But follow mattg's advice first.
