SSL Query

Post by MarHMS » 2017-04-03 00:04

Our company purchased an SSL package from Godaddy.

We have Afterlogic Webmail Lite. Where should we implement the SSL certificate?
Should it be implemented in HMS or in wamp?

Please assist.

Thanks.

so you want the SSL for your webmail users (padlock in the webbrowser)?
include in WAMP... ( google install SSL for the webserver type you use )

If you want to use the SSL cert to encrypt communication between emailclient and mailserver
include in HMS

there is a god "manual" here that helps you "a bit" with the initial steps....

really.. follow this...

Thank you.

I can do it for both though, if I choose to.

YES if you choose to.. just note... ( read below now )

for me i use the simplest SSL cert... i use the same cert for HTTPS and SMTP"S" and IMAPS, requires me to use 1 host name like mail.mydomain.com so my webmailusage will go via https://mail.mydomain.com and emailclients connect to mail.mydomain.com ( via port 587 or 993 where ive "installed" the SSL cert)

buy an expensive cert like a wildcard one and u can SSL everything under *.mydomain.com

Or you dont pay and use Let´s encrypts for free certs..http://www.letsencrypt.org there is a REALLY easy win-simple client that ive tested on a win2008.. worked like a charm
( i will do that myself when i have moved from my win2003 32bit box over to something with 64bits)
