hMailserver sends whatever email it is given to send

Enable all logging, recreate the issue, and post the logs here please.

Some update here:
Turns out hotmail had blocked our IP number for some reason. Due to this receivers from Office 365 is not able to receive any of our emails. How do I undo the blacklist?

You need to check with hotmail about how to get them to unblock you

Turns out, the Azure VM that we are using does not allow sending emails without a smtp relay:
Sending outbound e-mail to external domains (such as outlook.com, gmail.com, etc) directly from an e-mail server hosted in Azure compute services is not supported due to the elastic nature of public cloud service IPs and the potential for abuse. As such, the Azure compute IP address blocks are added to public block lists (such as the Spamhaus PBL). There are no exceptions to this policy.
The supported way to send e-mails to external domains from Azure compute resources is via a SMTP relay (otherwise known as a SMTP smart host). The Azure compute resource sends the e-mail to the SMTP relay and then the SMTP relay provider delivers the e-mail to the external domain. Microsoft Exchange Online Protection is one provider of a SMTP relay, but there are a number of 3rd party providers as well. We list some pointers to SMTP relay services below, but it is not a complete list. Please note that you need to setup an account with the SMTP relay provider first and then configure your Azure server or application to send outbound e-mail via the SMTP relay.
Is there a workaround, using hmailserver?

Future reference, the complete explanation: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/mast/2 ... l-domains/

This will help all those people complaining about their email being seen as spam when sending from azure installations.

Probably because you are misunderstanding the use of that particular relay or you have incorrectly entered the parameters. In any case there are hundreds of relays you can sign up for and use (Google it). The link you quoted earlier gives you some suggestions.

the best part is microsoft support guy did it for me, yet it dint work.

The link you provided me had sendmail & postfix.
Question: I hosted the hmailserver on windows 2008, so where do i do this sendmail or postfix settings? in the same server?

You sign up to sendmail, then just enter the details in the SMTP relay section in hms.
