Hi,
Is it possible / stable for hmailserver to host a company emails. We have 3 domains with 20 email users each (total of 60 email users / ids) which is currently hosted by a different company.
I tried setting-up a test mailserver (hmailserver) in a Windows 7 PC (i5 / 8GB RAM / 500GB HD). I was able to use it for my personal domain and so far no issues. Since this mailserver is working properly, is it possible to add my other 3 domains on this machine?
Thanks,
Hosting our own emails
Re: Hosting our own emails
yes, absolutely
just add the domains, and point the MX records to this machine.
Once you have one domain working, the next is very easy.
ALSO, if you want to move to a new computer, just install same version of hmailserver on both machines and use the built-in backup and restore.

Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.

Re: Hosting our own emails
thanks mattg...
Read more on this forum and try.. I need to make sure that hmailserver will be able to handle our mails. We're dealing with hundreds of mail per day per users.
Do you think hmailserver can handle this volume of mails? is my hardware enough?

Re: Hosting our own emails
yes on both counts
There are reports of hMailserver handling millions of messages per day (separate machine with database and NAS)
The only I Issue I see is disk space, but if all users connect via POP3 that shouldn't be an issue.
