how to generate TXT record

Post by robina80 » 2014-09-22 11:32

Hi Guys,

how do i generate a txt or spf record for my email server as i have heard some email servers reject your emails due to this?

this is only for testing purposes so i can learn, i haven't got a static IP i get a Dynamic one from my ISP so i cant get it to be a rDNS but luckily my ip address doesnt change really ever, only if i connect a new router to it. will this be a problem

thanks,

rob

You add the TXT or SPF record in your public DNS.

It can but it doesn't have to

With the string as I have it and valid MX record would suit as the sender's IP address

And for the record, having an SPF record doesn't guarantee anything.

take out the PTR from your spf record (if its in there) and try again.

Yes you need a static IP
