imap delete quesiton

Post by icecream2013 » 2014-06-06 20:42

Hi,

I am using hmailserver version 5.4.1-B1951. I found that I can delete email on the server from roundcube but not iphone. (IMAP). Anything I deleted on Iphone, I will be able to download it again on Outlook (POP3). Also, any deleted email through iphone shows as grayed out on roundcube with deleted flag but not moved to the trash can.

here is the different log information between roundcube and iphone if i delete an email:

Iphone:
"SENT: A0005 OK UID completed"
"RECEIVED: A0006 UID SEARCH UNDELETED"

Roundcube:
"SENT: A0005 OK UID completed"
"RECEIVED: A0006 LIST "" Trash"

anyone knows how to resolve this? thanks a lot for your help.

Set your iphone to delete rather than just mark as delete

There is a 'deleted messages' in advanced settings for each mail account
Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.

What are the options you have in 'deleted messages' in your mail account settings on your iPhone?

it is set to remove "after one day" but that doesn't help much coz I use iphone to check emails morning and noon time and use MS-Outlook to check email afternoon when I return to the office, all read and deleted emails get downloaded again to the Outlook as new unread emails. I used yahoo email service before which all read emails shown as read and no deleted emails got downloaded again. is there way to filter those read and deleted emails to get downloaded again?

thanks,

What we are saying is that hMailserver only does what it is told by the mail clients.

Talk to the vendors of your mail clients if you want them to change their behaviour.

From apple forum, ipad forum ,iphone forum, mac froum ,you can find kinds of same theme. In fact, deleting or emptying your iphone data does not mean those data are gone forever .So want to wipe and clean iphone data permanently ,you need one tool ! :P
