Third level mailboxes

Post by maggiore81 » 2011-12-06 13:20

Hello
I have always created mailbox in this way:

domain: domain.com

mailbox: user@domain.com

Well... what if I would like to create this email:

john.smith@customers.domain.com ?

What I should do, also at DNS Server level?

thank you

Create the domain or domain alias as customers.domain.com instead of just domain.com. ;)
In DNS you make a hostname & DNS that resolve to that as well. Commonly mail.domain.com resolves to a mail server in the same way but people don't usually use user@mail.domain.com but it'd work if added to hmail that way.
