I'm having a problem with ClamWin anti-virus and hMailserver 5.3.3-B1879
I have set up the ClamWin anti-virus option by using auto-detect. I verified the paths given were correct:
Enabled: Checked
ClamScan executable: C:\Program Files (x86)\ClamWin\bin\clamscan.exe
Path to ClamScan database: C:\ProgramData\.clamwin\db
However, I send the EICAR test virus from http://www.info-techs.com/eicar.shtml and it gets straight through, despite Delete attachments being checked under the General tab.
I updated the definitions in ClamWin, yet this issue still occurs.
Many thanks in advance.

Re: ClamWin & hMailServer issue
As an aside you should consider change to ClamAV from here >> http://hideout.ath.cx/clamav/
ClamWin doesn't work well with busy mail servers...
ClamWin should pick up the EICAR test virus.
Enable logging in ClamWin, to see what that shows...
Also, were you testing from an IPRange that checked AV, check in your IP ranges..
If you still have trouble, enable verbose logging, include date and time in the log within ClamWin, and all logging in hMailserver, repeat the test and post both logs please

Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.

Re: ClamWin & hMailServer issue
We currently have ClamAV version .96.5 installed on our Hmail server. This ClamAV installation originated from Nico's website. We are getting prompted to upgrade our ClamAV installation to version .97. Nico's website does not have the new version posted yet. If I download version .97 from http://www.clamav.net, does anyone have any insight in how to do the upgrade? I am concerned that Nico's ClamAV version is somehow not compatible with the version on http://www.clamav.net.
Thanks in advance,
Steve

jdnewman123: As mattg suggested give us something to go on.. Often if viruses pass OK when running the command-line version the return code setup is wrong.
Yeah seems Nico/tBB's version is out of date but usually being a little bit behind isn't a huge deal. Hopefully he surfaces since his version seemed the best for Windows to use with hmailserver. (Personally I'd suggest people think hard about using the integrated clamd client built into hmail 5.4 with clamd vs calling the command line one but that is just me. I realize the issue is you still need clamd back-end but it isn't that hard to run nix in virtual machine or use an 'appliance' version if you don't feel like installing & setting it up.)
