hmail crashing RESOLVED

Post by indiannic » 2011-02-12 03:33

hi all

we use hmail on 4 of our server each with around 200 to 1500 email ids

we had this issue of hmailserver randomly crashing with the errors

"ERROR" 3924 "2010-10-20 13:51:02.015" "Severity: 2 (High), Code: HM4208, Source: IOCPQueueWorkerTask::DoWork, Description: An unknown error occured while handling asynchronous requests.

also we use to get a lot of "problematic messages"

Please see post dated

Subject: send receive suddenly stops

i am happy to report that over the past over 1 month since the upgrade to hMailServer 5.3.4 - 1913 ie beta version there has not been a single incident of any crashing and no errors at all

we had experienced this crashing situation on all our servers and also after updates all our servers are working absolutely normally.

thanks all (especially martin and Bill48105 ) for your kind help on this matter

I forgot to say that before upgrade to a beta version, I'd like to wait a new stable release.
Can someone cover this problem to know if it's really fixed in the beta?

That is very good news & goes along with what we've been seeing/hearing. I've been running 5.4 on production server with many domains & users since early November 2010 & not had those errors once. As has been noted about 100x, it is very dependent on server hardware, mail load, mail connection types and hmail configuration settings as to if that error happens & how often. So the fact I've never had it happen on my real server does not really mean much in terms if others will have the problem but it is good to hear updates from others like yourself because the less people having the problem the more confident we can be that it is fixed or at least significantly improved.

So thanks for the update & I hope you continue to have hmailserver working well for you. :)
