Database changes 5.3.2 -> 5.3.3

Post by prisma » 2010-09-30 10:00

Are there any database changes from 5.3.2 to 5.3.3 ?

Background:
5.3.2 works smooth for us, but my opinion is, that a software should be kept always up-to-date. So I want to perform an update. If any problems appear, it would be nice to be able to do a rollback by changing the executable back. Yes, I know: Take a test server, try it yourself. But possibly anybody has tried this before...

Continuative: Is there a documentation about database changes of the future 5.4? (Background: Will a 5.3.3 work with a 5.4 Database if a emergency rollback is necessary?)

I don't see any database changes there. (doesn't mean that there aren't any though).

Mostly for version jumps the database structure changes significantly to allow for improvements in the program. I wouldn't expect that 5.3.3 will work with a 5.4 database without grief. (it may work, I just wouldn't expect it to happen)
Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.

Thanks, I inspected the changelogs too, but there's nothing about database. You're right, the question is, would there be any notice if a database change is done?

So, the answer is up to Martin, I guess. Martin can you hear me? :)

Install 5.3.2 and 5.3.3 on different test machines. Export database schemas. Compare them.
