I am using Squirrelmail with hMailserver.

When composing an email and sending it I get the error message:-

error 530 SMTP authentication is required

Where do I set this in either Squirrelmail or hMailserver please?

in your squirrelmail config

C:\inetpub\wwwroot\squirrelmail\config\config.php

Code: Select all

$smtp_auth_mech = 'login';

(C:\inetpub\wwwroot is IIS, different for apache etc)

If I recall you have the option to tell Squirrell to make the user use a password to login. Just as Hmail requires you to.
