Hotmail dont receiving

Post by newvar » 2009-11-23 23:31

Hi,
In same server (static ip / not BL / HMS last) . I' install Kerio 6.x. Just add domain, 1 account and test sending to 7 address includes yahoo, hotmail, gmail. Work fine. Remove Kerio and install HMS. Add domain, 1 account and resend to the same 7 address. 6 receive, but hotmail not receiving. Re-send. Not receive. Ok. Uninstall HMS and re-install KERIO, add.... and work fine  Remove Kerio, install HMS, add... send and hotmail not receive message
Why? What configuration for work to all hostmailler?

Can you post the log for kerio?
If at first you don't succeed, bomb disposal probably isn't for you! ヅ

Well according to hMail log the email went through and hotmail I assume later just drops it. This is down to their smartscreen tech which is very annoying. I don't see why it should drop emails from hMail and not Kerio you should contact them and ask.

I'm assuming their filters analyze message content. Maybe hMailServer uses slightly different headers than Kerio and this makes their filter switch from legitimate email to spam. Microsoft provides some info here:
http://postmaster.msn.com/

I believe you can contact them and ask why they don't accept your specific email.

(I have no problems sending to Hotmail)

Hehe, I doubt it's as easy as that. Different clients and servers produces different email formats. hMailServers headers may be very similar to the headers of MailServerA and MailServerB, but not to MailServerC (Kerio in this case). Maybe newvar is sending email containing the word "test", and that word in combination with specific headers, specific sender IP addresses, specific top domain name raises the spam-score just over the top. There's literally thousands of things which could affect the spam score of a specific email. I doubt Hotmail turns of anti-spam just because the message originats from MailServerC.. :)

I wouldn't put it past them giving a huge spam tolerance when sent from exchange as opposed to a non MS product.

hotmail has lots of trouble. as martin told you, there's lot of factor . Especially IP and PTR, or SPF.

Even the mailserver header sometimes can cause trouble. Before with Argosoft I've got lots of missing mail 'couse the argosoft header was " Argosoft bla bla for Win NT /ecc ecc "
the WIN in the header cause looooots of trouble in most server...

re-check the settings and :

enable SPF,enable DKIM,associate PTR to the hostname linked into mailserver ,if possible do not reside on dynamic Ip . ( i'm in italy and it's impossible to do last thing..most of the static IP are dynamic ip configured statically and this caose LOTS of trouble)
