Post by Gatzu78 » 2009-11-16 15:17

Hi Martin,
I have a problem sending mails to some domains.

This is an example, the sender email exist on the mail server, so on't understand why the merlin2.net mail server is compleing.

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

sales@merlin2.net
Error Type: SMTP
Remote server (80.237.138.5) issued an error.
hMailServer sent: RCPT TO:<sales@merlin2.net>
Remote server replied: 550 Sender verify failed

Thank you.

if you enable all logging, recreate the issue you will get more detail in the logs.

This error says that the recipient server told your server that it didn't verify itself. could be many things, including that you perhaps us a home type dynamic IP address, have no SPF records set, didn't send from the IP detailed in the MX records...
Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.

Not sure if this is what mattg meant, but the error (typically) means that the recipients server tried to verify that your sender-address actually exists. They do this by connecting back to your server. If your MX records is not set up properly or other servers cannot connect to your server for another reason, or the sender address does not actually exist (or is inactive), you will get this error.
