SMTP Auth problem

So, I send my email from my network through hmail server, and let my hmail relay it to my ISP's SMTP. Everything works fine, except if the destination of the email is but several domains.

Unfortunately, we can't send emails to our customers, whenever we use hmail server to relay it to my ISP's SMTP, but they always be able to send emails directly to our customers without problem (without having through hmail relay emails to my ISP's SMTP).

I checked the logs and all it said is 'SMTP Auth' or so. How come? I just use my hmail to relay it to my ISP's SMTP, not using it to make my own SMTP server. Oh yes, Hotmail and Yahoo accept email sent like this (my hmail relays it to my ISP's SMTP first).

I edited the domain name, though. xxxxx.com is a domain that rejects email that is relayed from my hmail. xxxxx2.co.id is my own domain, as you can see, no that damned line of smtp auth whenever my clients send email to each other.

Because you haven't bothered to read the documentation. When you don't, problem will happen. Read it:

SMTP authentication is required.

You have enabled SMTP authentication for the IP range that the user is connecting from, but the user has not configured his client to use SMTP authentication. There's two ways to solve this problem. Either configure your email client to use SMTP authentication. This setting is normally found in the account settings in your email client. Or, disable SMTP authentication for the IP range. The first solution is recommended since it reduces the risk that anyone will send spam through your server.

By default, hMailServer does not require SMTP authentication for connections coming from localhost / 127.0.0.1. For connections coming from other hosts, SMTP authentication is required for deliveries to external recipients. By default, hMailServer never requires SMTP authentication for deliveries to local accounts, since that would prevent other e-mail servers to deliver email to your installation. For information on how to enable SMTP authentication, check the HOWTO.

If you are using a Cisco router, you may need to disable SMTP Fixup protocol. If this is enabled, the router will sometimes intercept SMTP traffic and replace data in it before it reaches hMailServer which will cause problems.

Outlook Express 6 and Ms Outlook 2007.

And so, in account settings is there a checkbox for 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' somewhere in Account settings?

-_- It's working now. I've never had used that smtp auth box, so I didn't know how to use it....
