No delivery receipt when using outlook

Post by Khurram » 2007-12-05 16:01

I am using outlook to send email and have selected the "delivery receipt" option in outlook. But I am getting no delivery receipts. Is there some setting in hMailServer that will turn this on? hMailServer is configured to send email via my ISP SMTP server.

Thanks.

This has nothing to do with hMail or any email server. It is client related.

Well, outlook is already configured as it was before (we were using another email server before) and I was getting delivery receipts. I have changed nothing at the client end in outlook.

Thanks.

As far as I know, delivery receipts are sent by the server and read recipients are sent by the client. So as far as I know, this is not client related.

Anyway, hMailServer has no implementation for delivery receipts. According to Microsoft, you must use Exchange to be able to use delivery receipts. (I'm guessing this is incorrect though)

To request delivery receipts for messages you send to others, you must be using Microsoft Exchange Server as your mail service.

Read receipts is what I was thinking of.

Hmm, our previous server was not Exchange Server but I was still able to get delivery receipts. I hope hMailServer gets around to implementing this as an option.

In the meantime, can I use some script to accomplish this?

It may be psosible to use scripts to do it, but you need to know how to write VBScripts to do it.

VBscript is no problem. But I cant find any event that would be appropriate for this. The closest is OnDeliverMessage but at this stage, the delivery is not yet completed.

Thats what i thought he was talking about to. Your not alone
[Destiny = Desternation] [Desternation = Last Stop] [Last Stop = Death]
So you destiny doesn't really matter, its what you do before you get there.
