Sending IP Listed on https://spamrl.com As a Source of Viruses

Post by thomas10 » 2023-06-06 11:20

Hi All,

I have really no idea how to settle this one. Our colleagues cannot send email out due to the error message below. :x

[Remote server replied: 550 The sending IP (xx.xx.xx.xx) is listed on https://spamrl.com as a source of viruses.]

I have gone to the spamrl website to delist our IP but for 7 days only. After 7 days, same issue occurs again. :x
We even check our IP in mxtoolbox but our record is clean.

Please advise if someone got a way for this. Appreciated.

from the horses mouth.... https://spamrl.com/ :

If your message was wrongly blocked, please reach out via alternate means to the recipient and request that they release and train the message from their spam quarantine, and then request a delist. This will not only resolve the immediate reputation issue, but also helps in improving your IP/domain reputation for the future.

.
but i have to ask.. "Our colleagues cannot send email out due to the error message below" ... what/which server is giving the message.. since i assume from your post that your collegues cant send anything out.. would that be a relay server or your server or just 1 remote server or..... ?

SPF, DKIM and DMARC would potentially fix this as it would prevent unauthorised servers sending viruses on your behalf.

OTOH IF it IS an employee of yours actually sending viruses ... Weeeell ... Antivirus is probably a good thing ;-)

Dear Johang,

My apologies, correction, they cannot send email out to certain email address, sorry for confusing you. Then they receive this bounce back error after send to these email address.
That means, some of their customers are using spamrl to filter email :|

Dear Soren,

Ya, when I was googling it, there are so many complaints on spamrl.
I did send email to the helpdesk, they asked us to inform Internet Service Provider to email them requesting to whitelist our IP.
Simply wow, we are the one hosting with the IP..

get a relay service and use it via routes inside hmailserver to those specific domains until you have got things sorted ( but then again.. if you do an "inbetween fix" there is no reason for other side to help you unlisting... )

Hi Guys,

Good news.
After Ding Dong with the spamrl helpdesk for few days, explaining the whole incident story, they finally release us as mentioned in the email.
Hopefully it's not a hoax.
