strange POP3 log

Postby Papermouse » 2012-03-22 22:08

Hi.

Thanks for helping.

I'm trying to figure something out and noticed that I get a lot of this in the pop3 logs:

Code: Select all

"POP3D"   2720   4626   "2012-03-22 20:54:41.390"   "1.2.3.4"   "SENT: +OK 8347 messages (2391356797 octets)[nl]1 5[nl]2 6[nl]3 9[nl]4 10[nl]5 11[nl]6 13[nl]7 14[nl]8 15[nl]9 18[nl]10 19[nl]11 20[nl]12 21[nl]13 22[nl]14 23[nl]15 24[nl]16 25[nl]17 26[nl]18 27[nl]19 28[nl]20 29[nl]21 30[nl]22 31[nl]23 32[nl]24 33[nl]25 34[nl]26 36[nl]27 37[nl]28 38[nl]29 39[nl]30 40[nl]31 41[nl]32 42[nl]33 43[nl]34 44[nl]35 45[nl]36 46[nl]37 47[nl]38 48[nl]39 50[nl]40 51[nl]41 52[nl]42 53[nl]43 54[nl]44 55[nl]45 56[nl]46 57[nl]47 58[nl]48 60[nl]49 62[nl]50 .... this goes on for a /long/ time

What is it, should I be worried?

Thanks,

Papermouse

That is normal if the user has a lot of messages in their box, especially if they use 'leave on server' or don't delete messages from the server.

I don't recall if turning off debug logging stops that or not but I do know the new log limiting settings I put in 5.4 allow you to truncate those very long lines if you like. But you need to be on 5.4 & set the INI values since they are not in the GUI yet.

Thanks Bill.
Guess why I was going through the logs? To find out why the messages are not deleted :D
