I've been reading previous posts, but unable to solve this problem.
host A: hmail 511-b341 on w3k(32)-sp2, av mcafee enterprise, 512 mb, 1cpu, hosted on vmware-server 2 64b (latest build, clean build)
host B: MySQL 5.0.45 on Centos 5.3 64b , 2048 mb, 2cpu, hosted on vmware-server 2 64b (latest build, clean build)
problem scenario:
after install Myslq admin tools on host A (5.0.45) connecting to mysql instance on host B is ok and error free.
during hmail init db selection/init, installer reports libmysql.dll not found, cp into :
c:\program files\hmailserver\bin
c:\windows\system32
no joy.

You need to download libmysql.dll it does not come with hMail V5 as V5 is not open source.
If at first you don't succeed, bomb disposal probably isn't for you! ヅ

as stated initially, I've installed MySql admin tools for version 5.0 (latest) on the hmail host, and copied the corresponding file to the hmailserver\bin directory and in a second try equally c:\windows\system32 (suspecting a search path issue).
No joy.
Or am I just too quick and should regress to earlier version of the mysql edition (on linux).

I use PHPMyAdmin and always have 
libmysql.dll is not allowed to be distributed with hMail so the forums will have to do
