hmailserver and MailArchiva

Post by Rob4ik » 2016-11-20 23:52

Hi all,

i looked for an Tutorial to use MailArchiva for my hmailserver, so wrote one.

MailArchiva is a popular email archiving software product used by companies, NGO's, goverments and educational institutions to safely archive and retrieve millions of emails.

Installation for MailArchiva for Windows/Linux/Solaris/OS X you can found here:

https://www.mailarchiva.com/help/displa ... uick+Setup

i will not go deeper in the Installation, i use the Debian Linux Version.

Generally, there are two main integration to get the Mails:

(a) Push - MailArchiva can be configured to receive incoming mail traffic via its listener interfaces (push)
(b) Pull - MailArchiva can be configured to actively retrieve mail from a mail server

I Will handle b in my Tutorial.

1. Configure hmailserver to Mirror all in/outgoing Emails to an single one, so MailArchiva can get this.

1.1 Create a Mail Account

1.2 Configure Mirror to prev. Configured Mail Adress.

Image

2. Configure MailArchiv, i will handle only the connection to hmailserver here

2.1 Connections> new Connection > all default just enter your Mirror Account we have created before.

Image

I hope this will help somebody with same Problems like me.

Greetings

Thanks for the write up. Good work.

Just a disclaimer that I add every time I see the mirror function being used ' Please check local laws, this may be illegal in your local area'
Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.
