Dear all
I have read a lot of posts about this but didn't find something applicable to my issue
Mainly we are currently migrating websites from one server to a brand new one
The old server was using Hmailserver 5.3.3 B1879 and the new one is using 5.6.7 B2425
Dns, web sites and emails domain and accounts are transferred to the new server and here start the issue
Sending emails from the web sites is ok and working
Sending emails from external to local or local to external seems to be ok as well
Local to local is sending me 530 SMTP authentication is required
The allow deliveries from local to local local to external and external to local are allowed external to external is disabled
local to local and local to external require smtp authentification
In Outlook all my accounts have smtp authentication one and testing the account is ok both for pop and smtp
I still have old domain on the old server and sending from a local account to another local account is working find
On the new one still getting 530 SMTP authentication is required....
So for the few domains we have transferred people cannot send emails to each other and this is quite an urgent problem to fix before going ahead with other domains.
I have no more ideas to solve this as comparing both configurations are totally similar so any help or ideas are welcome !

Re: 530 SMTP authentication is required
We did some other tests that clarify a little bit the issue.
So this is a complement of info related to our problem.
On the new server we have several domains migrated and sending from one to the other is ok
On the new server sending an email from one domain to an address on the same domain works too.
On the old server we have our main domain still there.
The domain has been declared already on the new server because websites are relying to the id and password to ensure emails can be send
Sending an email from the old server to an existing address on another domain present in the new server ends in 530 SMTP authentication is required.
no idea if the old and/or new server is estimating in this case adresses being local or not.
Transferred domain to the new server have been removed from the old server as well so target domain are only present in the new server
Only the main domain used for id/password in the website is present in both Hmailservers instances.

so internally your old server still thinks its the master of "main domain" and when a user try to post from old server to a user in a domain on new server the new server has the "main domain" as well ?? so old server is saying i am "main domain" delviering mail to new server that says .. WTF i a "main domain" try to impersonate me and you will have to autheticate ?
is it like that ?
either you in the old server put in a relay configuration towards new server where you authenticate with a user and password or you simply just use new server all together ..
lets cheat darwin out of his legacy, find a cure for cancer...
Re: 530 SMTP authentication is required
until the new server is fully online, create a route for any domains that are partially stored on both servers

We are trying those ideas right now to check if this is working or not
