Running as a Windows Docker Container

Post by gp! » 2020-08-01 22:53

I found this post: https://www.hmailserver.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=33024

Curious now that Docker supports Windows with Windows based containers - is there any sort of container image for deploying hMailServer?

Interesting concept - I'll look into that
Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.

Having a quick look today, you need an enterprise version of docker to run up a windows system (on Server 2016), which costs almost a $1000 per annum.

Probably not going to be implemented by hMailserver anytime soon I'd guess

I run windows docker on hyper-v server 2019 (free) with a continer of iis 7 on server 2019. (also free)

https://hub.docker.com/_/microsoft-wind ... ercore-iis

To setup using servercore hMailserver you must install without GUI with only CMD or powershell.
HMS 5.6.8 B2534.28 on Windows Server 2019 Core VM.
HMS 5.6.9 B2641.67 on Windows Server 2016 Core VM.
