Remote Server control via Email

Post by bladerunner » 2009-07-11 09:50

Capability for mailbox users to send a message to "the mail server" , which parse mail body and gets commads such like
"start auto responder date from ..... to ....."
"tell me how much spam I have"
"tell me my traffic stats"
etc
etc
(fantasy will pop up which commands to implement.....)

In this way, users can "send an email to the server" (following a syntax) instructing his mailbox to do some jobs, with no admin intervention...

This should not be built into hMail. Using a scripting language to download email from hMail, parse it then use Com API to find the answer and send back the reply is how it should be done.
If at first you don't succeed, bomb disposal probably isn't for you! ヅ
