Broadcasting an e=mail

Post by gaganuiit » 2009-06-27 19:53

I want to know how can i broadcast an e-mail to every user of my mail service.
Well there is a Server Sendout utility but it has a disadvantage that this can only be done from the server.
If i want to use an admin mail account from the mail application how should i go about it?

How many users do you have?

Okk..
I just want to know if there is a possibility to broadcast it anyway.
You can give me a solution for as many users as you think you can..
I mean if u can broadcast a mail tell me with how many max users and how.

There are a few ways you can do it.

Setting up a distribution list by adding all of your users email addresses to it then you send one email to the distribution list and it gets sent to everyone on the list. This is very time consuming and is in no way automatic.

Another way to do it would be to connect to the COM API with a script, loop through all your users and send an email message to each account (would require you know how to script)

Final way to do this would be to connect to the database directly and loop through the user accounts then send an email to each and every account in the database. (again requires you to know how to script).

There is no easy way to do what you want other than to use the server sendout feature.
