System wide account for False Possitives and False Negatives

Post by gtr33m » 2007-06-04 05:44

Similar to that found in various SPAM blockers is an address for false possitives and false negatives which hMailServer monitors to add the address to either a whitelist or a blacklist.

This account should be able to receive mail from local accounts only to stop spammers from whitelisting themselves.

Main purpose is to cut down the administrators work load of managing spam an allow users to update whitelists where false positives occur.

This sounds interesting for me.
I was already thinking of adding such a feature via some kind of script.

That's a really great idea. GFI Antispam uses this feature and it helps to build your "HAM" database (good emails). I think it should be posible to configure each domain to have domain-wide or server-wide Anti-Spam accounts. I think that sometimes it would be also quite useful (especially for external, single accounts or webhosters) to configure just a user-wide Anti-Spam account.

Greets, Markus
