Better filters

Post by adipose » 2004-06-08 20:25

The filters only let you filter based on the "From" field, and only let you delete. "Delete" is about the only thing I'm interested in doing, but the "from" field is not very useful these days when emails come from "asdfsdajhfaksjdfh@hotmail.com" and the like.

How about filtering based on "subject" or "body"? This should be easy to implement, and would let me block things like "xanax" and "viagra."

make it export / importable

Is it possible to import and export the filter so that it is also possible to import for example spam rules? If one person makes a good list, why not share it.

That's not planned though. I'll see if I can come up with an easy way to do this. Perhaps a simple copy function in hMailAdmin would do it?
(doing this by creating a simple .vbs script isn't that hard either..)

:D

I'm using 3.2.2 now and the filtering is still rather simplistic. While simple is good, we could use a more sophisticated filtering system.

I want to be able to filter on text in the e-mail body, random header lines, etcetera. I want to be able to not only delete mail based on filters but also forward/move it to other mailboxes, maybe even autoreply for specific filter results, etc.

I know it is not easy, so I'm not going to push this too hard. But if you could... please...
