Logging activities

Post by jr3151006 » 2011-09-30 16:46

Hi,

as my previous post (http://www.hmailserver.com/forum/viewto ... 24#p130224) I would like to ask for the next version to store logs in separated files, for example D:\HMAIL\LOGS\SMTP-30092011.LOG, D:\HMAIL\LOGS\POP-30092011.LOG ...

tks,

Renato P

I like the logging to be all in one file. If you want it separating you can easily pull out the SMTPC/SMTPD/POP3/IMAP lines from the log the same way I do for my log analyzer http://log.damnation.org.uk
If at first you don't succeed, bomb disposal probably isn't for you! ヅ

jr3151006,
I actually added this in 5.4. You just need to add a few INI settings & restart hmailserver.exe service:
http://www.hmailserver.com/forum/viewto ... 12#p117612
IOW add SepSvcLogs=1 to [Settings] section.

EDIT: I should note you DO NOT want to use that very old alpha build of 5.4! Download either the latest available official build or check out he experimental builds if one of the fixes applies to you:
