use specific smtp-rela for each account

Post by Neo.P5 » 2009-12-07 15:05

if using hmailserver to collect external pop3 accounts it would be good to have the possibility to send your email via the corresponding smtp-relay. even if you have multible domains running.

like this situation:
i have some different pop3 accounts on my isp (1and1), a some google-mail account and some private hostet servers and i am using external-account-setting to collect my mails from these. if you are running hmail via dyndns (like me) it difficult to send outgoing email via the corresponding smtp-account cause there is some trouble to connect to different external smtp´s. also if the mx-entry is (and can not set) to your ip.
a definable smtp-relay for each account would solve this problem.

by the way: with this hmail can also be used as a kind of mail-proxy...
i have no such feature found in documentation...

who is also interested in this feature?

lookup ip range external to external for mail proxy answer.
If at first you don't succeed, bomb disposal probably isn't for you! ヅ

thanks for the tip,

but that not actually what i´m looking for.

a short example:
i have two pop3 mailboxes and each has a smtp-relay.

EMail: user1@xy.de
Pop3Box: pop.xy.de
Smtp-Relay: smtp.xy.de
User: user1
Password: Pass1

Email2: foobar@blablablasomthing.com
pop3Box: pop.blalbalbasomething.com
smtp-relay: smtp.blablablasomething.com
User: foobar
Password: Pass2

User and password are both the same for pop and smtp!

both pop3 boxes are fetched by external option to my local hmail-server.
if i send now a message from user1@xy.de it should be delivered through the smtp-relay smtp.xy.de; the same with foobar@blablablasomething.com / smtp.blablablasomething.com.
so you see, in this case hmail server is acting like a mail-proxy and passes the local-mail to this (specially configured) external smtp-relay (for each account an other one!).
is it now clear what i mean? (sorry my english is not the best ;)
