PHPWebAdmin - User can manage aliases?

Post by SpottedMarley » 2009-11-19 18:22

I was wondering why account users are not allowed access to creating and managing their own aliases.

This is something I would like for my account users to be able to do.

I used to run cPanel web admin and this was a standard ability for account users.

Is it a security risk?

Is there a config setting somewhere for enabling it?

I'm running hMailServer 5.3-B1617

Thanks for your help

I may have somewhat figured out what I'm looking for. Apparently, if I can setup a user as a "domain owner" or "domain administrator" .. that account will have access to creating aliases for all the email accounts on that domain .. but now my question becomes: How do I setup a "domain administrator" in hmail? the documentation dances around the idea in a few places but doesn't specify.

On the users account you can select that specific account to be one of server/domain/user
If at first you don't succeed, bomb disposal probably isn't for you! ヅ

You know what? I just found that in the admin haha!

But thank you anyways! Help is always appreciated!

Now everything is awesome

horndog: that's okay actually.. i dont run a hosting service, i just give space and hosting to a couple close friends, so they can have unfettered control of their domains

thanks again!
