Data Directory Synchronizer

Post by katip » 2009-06-27 17:09

5.1.2 b336

Sometimes it may happen that admin may post a message to local users (i.e. listall@domain.com) about a maintenance or similar, however short after that he/she realizes that there was a wrong information (like time, date or scope etc...).
Having full access to system as an admin, a search by keyword within Data directory (3rd party utils) can select all this messages and they can be deleted.

As a result users are getting an explanatory(ish) message like "... message could not be found on system..."

If I understand correctly, Data Directory Synchronizer is not able to delete or even recognize respective records on database in such a case. I would vote for a 3rd option on Data Directory Synchronizer, something like "Delete records on database belonging to non-existing messages on disk". Thks.

A low priority update imo but would be usefull for housekeeping for sure.

Someone else already created this as a script. http://www.hmailserver.com/forum/viewto ... 14&t=10062

I think I may make this as a PHP / MySQL script as well, i have no idea if that script above still works though.
If at first you don't succeed, bomb disposal probably isn't for you! ヅ

This is possible in the latest versions of DDS. Moving to archive.
