Following changes has been made:

POP3 mailboxes are now unlocked immediately when a client has disconnected.
If you have configured hMailServer to listen on a specific set of IP addresses, only these will be considered local. This means that hMailServer can now deliver to other SMTP servers running on the same computer, if these listen on other IP addresses.

Hopefully that was the last feature I've promised for 4.3. No more features will be added to 4.3. If I've promised something which I have forgotten about, this will have to be deferred to 4.4. Sorry

Martin,

Congratulations for your excellent work. I think version 4.3 reached a high level of stability and features and is ready for production deployment.

hMailServer becomes and excellent alternative for mail servers (I migrated from IMail due to its instability). I'm doing my part spreading the word for anybody who needs an Windows mail server, recommending hMail

Upgrade from B230 to B232 went fine here. Look forward to hearing about its public release! Haven't seen the mailbox lock problem for quite some time. (***fingers crossed)

I had this problem with 231 but after getting the fail problem and crash, i started Hmailserver admin, went into control panel, administrator, services and manually stopped the Hmainserver sql and hmail server services, tried a backup and it came up with a different error, then restarted the hmailserver services again and then started the hmailserver admin. since then its been all ok and ok with 232.

what about speed issue pop3/imap? On 229 was a bit slower, on 330 was recovered or just speed up.. Still fast as 330?

Here is what I have seen:

I got error while backing up in 229 and also in 231. In 231, after I stopped both services (hMailServerMySQL and hMailServer) I could backup. And I noticed that I did not have to restart the services as they were restarted automatically by hMailServer Admin after backing up.

Now with 232, I could backup just fine, no need to stop the services.

P.S. I must admit, I did not try testing the restoring procedure from thoese files.

strange.. I've done debugging but haven't been able to see what could cause the problem. :-\

In the latest build, I've added some more error checking when a backup is started. Did you check the backup log that it was completed successfully?

I have been running 232 since I found it,

But I have a question about the Whitelist.

I don't see it in the log like I see GreyList Cleaner..

First, Is it being triggered? And secondly, if so, when does it happen?

Is the whitelist checked before all other rules/operations?

Should I see a log entry for it?

I have three IPs whitelisted, and as best as i can tell, they are still being rejected because "550 The host name specified in HELO does not match IP address." (I just turned off that option...because it is ebay, and they simply don't bother to match.

But it appears that the whitelist is either not being used, or it is being used after other rules so I need to ask the question.

I will send some more tests from ebay and confirm the behavior in the logs, but thought I would ask just so I am not expecting something different than what Hmailserver is trying to do.

The good news is that from 230 up, my good mail to spam ratio is wonderful. Of all mail recieved, less than 5% is good mail, and hMailserver is now delivering mostly good mail only. I used to get 100 spoam for every good mail, now it is 1 spam for every 6-7 goo mails.

But I do want to get ebay messages so maybe opening up the ehlo check will raise the spam level, but hMailserver 4.3 B23x is a tremedous step up. Well done Martin!

The white list which exists in hMailServer only applies to grey listing. The white list is a grey listing white list, not an spam white list. There's a differecene between thesse two: Check this thread for that:

I just installed B232 and wanted to use greylistning. When trying to insert the "default" whitelist from puremagic I saw that the whitelisting in hmailserver only accepts one entry at a time. Is there a way to import the whole list in one go (as it contains about 80 entries...)

Apart from that - the upgrade from 4.2 seems to work flawlessly.

Been running b232 for a few days now with no ills to report.

The suggestion about uploading the Greylist-Whitelist is a good one, and one Martin has already talked about implementing. Not sure if it will be 4.3 or not though. I'm guessing it will probably though as it is going to be an issue for everyone wishing to use Greylisting.

Slug, I think i fixed those two yesterday. They should not matter. But if you have debug logging turned on, please send me the log at martin@hmailserver.com so that I can confirm that it's the same problem as I fixed.

Hi,

a few minor issues with B232.

Location: hMailAdmin -> Settings -> TCP/IP ports
- If I click "Add" or "Edit" and try to empty the field "TCP port" by pressing "del" it causes a Run-time error '13': Type mismatch.
- If I want a Server to listen on port 0, hMailAdmin accepts that but the Server will not listen on port 0.
- Port 65536 will be accepted, too (yes, nothing big, I know...

) and will cause hMailServer to listen on another port. I saw port 2425 and 2426 here.
- There is no "Save"-Button like in Multihoming, also no question to restart hMailServer to let the changes take effect.
- The "Edit"-Button has no underlined character like the "Add"-Button (saw that at Multihoming, too). BTW: What's the rule in hMailServer for unterlining characters in buttons, labels and so on, if there is any?

Location: hMailAdmin -> Settings -> Advanced -> Multihoming
- If I click "Add" and clear all fields of the IP-Address with "del" and click save, I get an "automation error".
- I may enter the same IP-Address to listen on more than once.
- The list of IP-Addresses is editable (I don't mean by klicking a button, but by single-klicking a list-entry), but editing it this way has (of course!) no effect.
- After I changed the IP-Addresses and click the "Save"-Button, the "Save"-Button remains enabled.

I think the first issue (the Run-time error 13) may be fixed in the next build, if possible.
The other issues.... well, I don't feel that the other issues are any kind of "vital" for a production environment. I added them for the sake of completeness and to be fixed in any further build.

Hi,

there seems to be a problem with the HTML-Signatures (on domain and user-level) - server replies with: "Your message was received but it could not be saved. Please retry later.."
Plain-Text is working good.
