hMailServer 4.0 - Build 91 (Alpha)
hMailServer 4.0 - Build 91 (Alpha)
New build available:
http://dev.hmailserver.com/hMailServer-4.0-Build-91.exe
Changes since the previous build:
* Installation now includes new service dependency scripts. These sets hMailServer to be dependent on the RPC service as well. If it already works properly for you, you do not need to run them. (hMailServer 4.0 requires the RPC service to be started to work properly).
* When upgrading from 3.x, the hMailServer service is now updated to be set dependent on the RPC service.
* In previous builds, hMailServer.exe was running even though you had closed all dialogs. This should be solved now.
* Editing criterias for rules that has not yet been solved should no longer be a problem.

Hello Martin,
you are really faster in changing or fixing things that we could test them!
Anyway, only wanted to tell you, that the vs. 4.0-90 was fixing the problem that the hmailserver-service didn't start after rebooting the machine.
He is starting now, BUT nevertheless I got the windows error-message on startup, that one or more services could not be started. The reason for this is defenitely not another service, because if I disabled hamailserver, the message doesn't appear. Maybe that the service needs too long to start and the messages was created - at the end it was running properly.
Will look later, if the 91-build solves it.

Yes this is selected. But, you're right that this is due to w2k3. Because I remember testing hMailServer on a VM with XP SP2 and logging worked there. When I moved to a production server with w2k3 it didn't work anymore. However, I assumed that this was due to another alpha build.martin wrote:daikoku:
In the service settings, is "Allow desktop interaction" selected? If it is, I'll have to test it on the same os as you're running. It works fine on my machine (WinXP)
When I can help you test things let me know. I'm using everything from VS6 to VS2005 Feb CTP on various OS's. Actually, I just checked out the head cvs and have a look at your code ,) Looks good.
Martin,
I have found a bug when using hmailserver administrator:
When I click on the "+" sign next to settings ha crashes with this error:

Hope this helps
PS: I love the new 4.0 features, very nice!

hmm not sure what it would be then, I'll do a complete reinstall.
I also noticed it would crash when I started the service, so maybe I messed something up here
