hMailServer 5.0, build 288 (Alpha)

Post by martin » 2008-05-13 11:54

A new 5.0 alpha is now available:
http://download.hmailserver.com/dev/hMa ... 0-B288.exe

Following changes have been made:

hMailServer Administrator:
- The "Select folder" button in backup settings did not work.
- Depending on regional options, it was not always possible to change account settings.
- Under Status, "Server warnings" have been renamed to "Configuration warnings" to better reflect its purpose.
- The "Warning" dialog is now resizable to solve problems with magically disappearing "OK" button.
- When renaming a domain, sub objects are renamed as well. However, sub-sub objects are still not renamed (same behavior as in v4)
- Changing the IMAP welcome message changed the SMTP welcome message.
- Additional error handling during log-on (better error messages on failure)
- The application crashed when trying to add a rule to a newly created account.
- The IP ranges list now includes Lower IP, UpperIP and Priority

API:
- The method "ItemByName" on hMailServer.Domains has been changed into a property.
- The method "Clear" has been added to the hMailServer.Messages collection.
- New method: "ItemByName" on Groups collection.

Server core:
- If hMailServer fails to download a message from an external server due to local disk problems (for example lack of space) hMailServer now gives up and disconnects immediately.
- More error handling and logging has been added to backup / restore

The thing which is remaining before it will be considered beta is the implementation of shared folders. Share folders does not work at the moment.

AGAIN Neat installation on WinXP Pro.

 API seems to be working but gotta take a closer look.
:!: Status --> Logging --> Start button height is greater than Clear button's

Thank you Martin.

There's a lot of such minor GUI issues in hMailServer Administrator. Since I reaaaally enjoy fixing those things, I save them to the end. ;)
