Unique rule needed

Post by GatorDrew » 2007-12-09 00:06

This is going to sound odd and, in fact, many of you will not understand this request.

Because of the uniqueness, I'd be willing to pay a developer to make it happen.

Basically, I need to intercept all INCOMING mail and change the domain.

Here's a scenario:

UserA@gmail.com sends an email to MyDomain.com. MyDomain receives the email, changes gmail.com to mydomain.com and then continues to send the email to the original recipient.

UserA will already have an account or alias at MyDomain in hMailServer.

I know this is an odd request. However, I really really need this to happen. Please contact me at andrew.tatum@gmail.com if you're interested in developing this add-on or if you have any more questions.

Thank you,
Andrew

Noone else is going to able to help you as the code is no longer open. So you are going to have to speak to Martin about this.

The general idea could be left open, I have no problem with that. We'd just pay for it to be developed a bit quicker, etc.

As others have already stated here you will need to contact Martin about this. He is really the only person that can help you with this request.

I might be missing something but I have to ask. Why wouldn't userA just connect through your server to send the mail, since they would already have some type of account there. I'm just curious.

I'm pretty sure this can be can be accomplished using the hMailServer API. "Unique" features shold never be implemented into the core server anyway (at least I would consider that bloatware).
