x64 safe to use for production?

Post by kaspercat » 2022-10-12 07:41

I'm a long time user of hmailserver and been experiencing daily errors with memory.
I'm itching to run the x64 version in production.
Is it stable enough to install in and try?
If I have problem, can I just switch back to the current version of 5.6.8?

I've been using it in production for more than 3 years I reckon
Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.

Good to know, I have been having these memory errors quite frequently.
Can I ask what version are you using?
I just downloaded the hMailServer-5.7.0-B2604-x64 and thinking to run it in place of the current x86.

Whatever the latest is at the time
b2604 currently

Do a Full backup, if using the GUI select all options including the ZIP, when done and verified, then simply install over the top
You may need to use a 64bit database driver if using MySQL

I did finally upgraded my production server to X64 V7. Almost all errors have disappeared but a new one cropped up.
This one comes up a few times per day and from ym webmail client on the same box.
Any suggestions on how to resolve?

Its the parser function again what makes hms crash.

There is some charcter hms cannot handle at the 19 line
of the Email at your IMAP inbox.

How should I go about debugging and solving this problem?
