Development environment

Post by DJP » 2019-11-07 14:12

Hello,

Do anyone have a VirtualBox image (or something) with VS Express configured, GitHub for windows, etc. ready to build HMS 5.7 x64 ?

I'd like to contribute, but I have issue setting up a working dev. environment, even using README stuff... :( I guess it is not up-to-date and it didn't worked for me...

Thanks,
DJP

Make sure that use exact versions detailed in the readme
Just 'cause I link to a page and say little else doesn't mean I am not being nice.

Readme says to use VS 2013 (PRO or Express) Update 3 ... I use VS 2013 Community Update 5 and install the MS API add-ons like with the Express edition.

Using the FREE "Community" edition (covers full version) enables you to use Extensions. I have installed the "Format All Files" extension to reformat all files in a project to a defined layout (tabs vs. spaces, 4 space indentations etc etc.).
