This is an outlook issue, not a hMailServer issue. Outlook doesn't do IMAP very well.

I could write a query to give me all mails with a FROM domain name not known by me = this means SPAM mails The others are then the normal emails. After Martin does all of the work instead, making it extensible, right? You know that Exchange has moved AWAY from the model you are proposing, ie Exchange 2008 no longer has common address books or calendars. The preferred MS approach is via Sharepoint services which is a FREE addin for Server 2003...

I'd suspect that no, you can't send from one gmail account to another without connecting directly with the gmail servers, the same as a client like Outlook or Thunderbird would (via an SSL connection btw)

I use greylisting, SPAM is almost non-existent greylist tells the spammers that my server will only play if they play the game by the known rules, ie try again. spammers don't try again often because they don't want to sit still for too long I reckon. So why are you connecting to the same account using both pop3 and Squirrelmail (via IMAP presumably)?
and from the same computer? On the internet?

The problem is that unless you have a real domain, most recipient mailservers will treat your mail as SPAM.

Dummy domains are suitable only for local recipients, in a controlled LAN environment.

Did you purge the deleted and moved messages from within Thunderbird?

Otherwise, they are just marked as deleted, but still present.

I just wouldn't use any ALPHA in a production environment, particularly if you are going to provide a service to paying customers. I'd expect that upgrade path from 4 stable to 5 stable will be painless. It looks relatively painless to the 5 Alpha presently available, I doubt that the stable version...

MySQL 5.0 introduced stored procedures. So ... everyone who does a fresh install (be it mySQL or MS SQL) can use SPs since quite a while. And the ones with old pre 5.0 installs who obviously do not bother to keep their database releases up to date won't bother keeping their hMail release up to date...

OK

That part of the log shows the message delivered to your hMailserver, not your hMailserver trying to deliver the message.

The next bit of the logs will show hMailserver trying to deliver the message...

Perhaps modifying the 'C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts' file to include the local LAN IP address of your hMailserver domain may fix this. This would only be a workaround though.
