Please post hmail logs of the iphones attempt to login. If your logs are large, rename todays log file just before the test. Make sure SMTP/IMAP/POP3 logging is enabled first.

This is the senders fault not hmail. hMail just sends what the client passes it. if it has bare LF's it's the clients that set them and hmail just sent it as is. Normally see this in PHP mailers running on Linux or as percepts says really old email clients.

First two session look fine, most likely those gmail users are spammers pretending to be gmail, check the ip's i bet google don't own them which is why they are rejected. This is normal behavior.

I'm surprised that worked in 5.3.x to be honest as it's not RFC compliant. You could possibly remove the quotes using a script in hmail but it would be better to fix GFI as it's not technically a valid email address. Do they have a support channel you can ask on?

According to that log, rdpryor@gmail.com is attempting to send to info@exposurebasketballtournaments.com and hMail is rejecting the email based on a DKIM check. That log snippet is hmail receiving the email, not forwarding(Sending) it on.

Disable the dkim check in hmail and see how you get on.

banner names should be FQDN's such as mail.yourdomain.com If you set it to be the same as an MX record you should be set.

the hm_message_metadata table is there to speed up sorting of imap results, i do not believe it contains any data about attached files. Files that are attached are just encoded text in the email body when you break it down.

biggest things are making sure your DNS checks out and that you have proper SPF records set, also DKIM can't hurt either.

web based tools can only check inbound ports, not outbound.

Default ip range settings are correct and do not have auth turned on for external to local, you have ticked that at some point trying to get your mailserver to work.

mx records and spf records are correct. Check with your ISP to make sure they allow you to run a mailserver. They sometimes block port 25 at their end.

check hmails SQL install scripts and run the commands manually if hMail cannot do it auto, see if you get the same errors. If not at least you can get up and running.

Don't use clamwin on anything but a low use mailserver, it is too resource intensive otherwise. I have not tested hmail on win 2012 so can't comment on that. If there are no log lines on clamwin running it is probably disabled or you do not have application logging enabled.
