In outlook set the server type as IMAP and the server address ad the IP address of the computer running hmail. If you are running hmail on the same computer as you are reciving the email use the address 127.0.0.1 .

Turn on aplication and debug logging. I THINK this will let us know what file it is trying to find.

Have you installed any new software on the server lately? some anti virus will scan the hmailserver data directory and will delete mail containing virus.

ASSP has a email interface for submitting spam emails you could try to forword emails to this address from spam@yourdomain.com

i had that same file missing on my server 2003 when i was trying to run some other software. I think some onee told me to install all the microsoft DoTnet packages i dunno now.

I tested it on XP but asuming you can install Kaspersky on server 2003 it shod work.

The batch file only requires 2000/xp and up

Don't know Im not using it. Im using ASSP. It is very effective. i only get a max of 2 spam pass to MY inbox a day. since my address is a catchall that pretty good. My spam is filtered in to a IMAP folder just in case.

And yeh its the install sheild logo with a burger layed over the cd rom

We get quite a few emails containing virus and 100% are caught. our setup is only a small 1 domain 5 user setup but still receive over 500 spam a day.

If there is a comand line version of your antivirus that returns a exit code then it can be used by hmailserver. The most common one used i believe is clamav. Oh its not really that hard. jsut one question though, Why are you using IIS SMTP are you sure this is required by mailwasher. I havent used mailwasher im running ASSP on my server so im not sure what method it uses

You really should make a new thread in the installation problems forum. and i says the reciving mail server DNS records are wrong. They MUST enter a a record in the MX record and NOT a ipaddress. Contact them and tell them to fix it.

just a theory but assuming you used the the mail servers name and not ip in the SM config file when you enable IPv6 this name will resolve to the IPv6 address. Perhaps SM doesn't support this. Try using the IP of your mail server in the config file and enable IPv6

Sorry i thought that the default was to require auth from 127.0.0.1 aswell. When i said "this means any computer that connects to your mailserver using the IP 127.0.0.1 can send with out using a password" what i ment was any PROGRAM that connects with 127.0.0.1.

Chances are you have set hmailserver to allow sending to external from local ip. this means any computer that connects to your mailserver using the IP 127.0.0.1 can send with out using a password. This is the most likely cause. Please post what settings you have in IP ranges.

Using a computer outside of your network (external) telnet to you email server on port 25.
If you recive an error chances are that your ISP is blocking port 25.

what files did you edit?
The SM even if you messed the SM plugin it shouldn't stop other pages from working.

In your php.ini file change display_errors to on and try the page again. post the error you recive.

you cant just move the files. Hmail keeps the paths of all the messages in a database and if you move the .eml files it will NOT be able to find them.
